Vietnamese Pulled Pork Sliders with Asian Slaw

Make your own Vietnamese Pulled Pork Sliders with Asian Slaw, just follow this procedure

 

What you need:

  • 2 kg skinless pork shoulder

  • 24 small brioche buns or small bread rolls

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 2 tbsp grated ginger

  • ½ cup char siu sauce

  • ½ cup rice vinegar

  • 1 onion

  • 1 stalk lemongrass

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

  • 1 tbsp soy sauce

  • 2 tbsp sugar

  • 1 quantity Asian slaw

Asian slaw

  • 6 snow peas

  • 2 green shallots

  • 2 cups finely shredded wombok cabbage

  • 1 small carrot

  • ¼ cup rice vinegar

  • 2 tbsp caster sugar

  • 2 tbsp fish sauce

  • 1garlic clove

  • 1 small red chilli

  • ½ cup coriander leaves

  • ½ cup mint leaves


 

Here’s how you make Vietnamese Pulled Pork Sliders with Asian Slaw

  1. In a big slow cooker, put spring onions and lemongrass on the base of it then the pork on top of it.

  2. Combine sugar, soy sauce, fish sauce, vinegar, char sui sauce, ginger and garlic. Mix well then add it over the pork then cover the lid of the slow cooker

  3. Lower the heat and let it cook for 8 hours. You will know if the pork is done when all the meat falls off from the bones. Prepare a large plate or tray the peel off the meat with bare hands or forks. Do not discard the juices that come off from the meat. After shredding the meat, toss back in the slow cooker together with the juices. Remove some fats on the mixture then cover the lid.

  4. Combine shallots, herbs, snow peas, and cabbage in a bowl. Mix well to combine

  5. In another bowl, mix in some sugar, chilli, rice vinegar, fish sauce and garlic. Stir well to combine or until the sugar is completely dissolved.

  6. Toast the buns and slice to open.

  7. Drizzle the dressing over the slaw ingredients then spoon a pork mixture and fill it in the buns.

  8. Sprinkle an amount of char sui sauce and spoon some of the asian slaw.

  9. Serve and enjoy!
