Another Traditional Sticky Rice Cooked in Bamboo (Com Lam), here’s how to do it


What you need:


  • 2 cups glutinous rice

  • 4 banana leaves

  • 4 small bamboo, open up one side

  • 1 banana leaf,

  • 4 bamboo string

  • salt

  • pepper

  • sesame seeds


Here’s how you make Sticky Rice Cooked in Bamboo (Com Lam)


  1. In a bowl, soak in the glutinous rice overnight.

  2. In the bamboo, lay in the rolled banana leaves shape like a cigar, Slowly put the rice and seal the opened sides of the bamboo with banana leaves and tie with a string.

  3. In the heated charcoal, put on top the bamboo and let it cook for 10 minutes. Occasionally turning over the bamboo to evenly cook.

  4. Remove the bamboo in the heat and let it cool a bit. Remove the leaves and serve the cooked rice in the bamboo. Add the salt and pepper to taste top with sesame seeds.
