Pagoda Rice Steamed in Lotus Leaf (Com Hap La Sen)

What you need:

 

  • 4 cups jasmine rice

  • ½ ts psalt

  • ½ tsp freshly ground pepper

  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 12 lotus seeds, cooked

  • 5 shiitake mushrooms

  • 100 g green peas

  • 100 g carrots

  • 2 small fresh lotus leaves

  • 1l otus flower

  • soy sauce

  • red chilli


 

Here’s how you make Pagoda Rice Steamed in Lotus Leaf (Com Hap La Sen)

 

  1. Stir fry the vegetables for a minute or 2 then remove from heat and set aside.

  2. In another pan, stir fry the jasmine rice for 3 minutes.

  3. In a tray or flat big plate, put a lotus leaf and layered by another one. Add in on top of the leaf the vegetables and spoon over an amount rice and fold the lotus leaves to envelop the rice and sturdy them well to be flatten.

  4. In a boiling steamer, Put bowl of Lotus leaves and steam for at least 5 minutes in a high heat.

  5. Turn over the leaves and slice 2 long cuts on the first layer and criss-crossing from corner to corner. Folding in the sections back. Redi the procedure with the other bottom lotus leaf.

  6. Serve the dish with soy sauce and chilli dipping sauce top it with lotus flower if desired.
