Hue Lemongrass Skewers(NEM LUI HUE)

We will show you how Hue Lemongrass Skewers (NEM LUI HUE) can be made in this easy steps

 

 

Here’s what you need:

 

  • 100 g(1 lb 5 oz) minced beef
  • 200 g minced pork

  • 20 g pork fat, minced

  • 20 g cooked and shredded pork skin (purchased from Asian market)

  • 1 tbsp finely diced garlic

  • 1 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1 tbsp fish sauce

  • ½tbsp sugar

  • 12 lemongrass stalks, trimmed

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 60 ml(¼ cup) chilli sauce

  • 3 tbsp hoisin sauce

  • 6 warm baguettes

Here’s how you make Hue Lemongrass Skewers ( Nem Lui Hue)

  • combine the beef, minced pork, pork fat, pork skin, garlic, shallots, pepper, fish sauce and sugar in a mixing bowl.
  • Knead for 5 minutes until all ingredients have combined well.

  • Cover with plastic wrap and chill for about 1 hour.

  • divide the mixture into desired portions and roll each portion into a sausage shape.

  • With a lemongrass stick, thread the beef sausages brush with small amount of oil

  • Heat a barbecue grill cook the skewers for 6 minutes, occasionally turn over the skewers until cooked.

  • Prepare your warm bAguette and spread some chili sauce and hoisin sauce then put the meat inside the baguette.
