What you need:

  • 12 spring onions

  • 1 garlic clove

  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 kg pork loin chops

  • 2 tbsp spring onion oil

  • 1red bird’s-eye chilli

  • ⅓ cup coriander leaves

  • steamed jasmine rice

  • nuoc cham

  • ⅓ cup oyster sauce

  • ⅓ cup fish sauce

  • 1 tbsp honey

  • 1 tbsp white sugar

  • 1 lemongrass stalk


 

Here’s how you make Chargrilled honey and Spring Onion Pork Cutlets (Suong Nuong)

  1. Mix together vegetable oil, garlic, spring onions, lemongrass, sugar, honey, fish sauce and oyster sauce. Marinate pork in the mixture. Let it sit for 4 hours or best if overnight in the fridge.

  2. Grill pork for 2 minutes occasionally turning over to cook evenly. Turn heat to 90 degrees and cook for another 2 minutes to create a crisscross pattern. You can cover the cooked meat with foil to keep it warm while cooking the rest of the meat

  3. Chop meat into desired size or just a bite size. Plate it in and sprinkle some spring onion, chilli and coriander. Best paired with your steamed jasmine rice with nuoc cham to dip
