Caramelised Mackerel (Ca Kho)

Your fave mack is here, follow this simple steps to make Caramelised Mackerel (Ca Kho)


What you need:

  • 1 tbsp onion

  • 1 tsp garlic

  • ½ cup coconut water

  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil

  • 2 long red chillies

  • 2 mackerel fillets

  • 1½ tbs white sugar

  • 3 tsp fish sauce

  • ½ cup fish stock

  • 2 spring onions

  • coriander


Here’s how you make Caramelised Mackerel (Ca Kho)

  1. Caramelise sugar in a pan over medium heat. Combine the fish sauce and simmer for 2 minutes until light brown. Add in fish stock and coconut water and let it simmer for another 3 minutes.

  2. Saute onion and garlic for at least 3 minutes. Combine  the garlic and onion into the caramelised sauce and add spring onions and chilli

  3. In a heated pan, cook the mackerel in the sauce for 5 minutes.

  4. Serve in a plate and top it with coriander.
